    Gales soon easing, blustery showers.


    Gales across the Western Isles soon ease this morning, but staying breezy along the coasts. A dry start, but showers along the west coast. These spread inland through the morning, turning frequent with a risk of thunder in the afternoon. Maximum Temperature 15 °C.


    Blustery showers will continue through the evening, but becoming less frequent overnight away from the west coast. Remaining breezy along the coast. Minimum Temperature 6 °C.


    A few showers at first, mostly over the Western Isles, but these will become isolated by late morning with most areas seeing a dry day with sunny spells. Winds easing. Maximum Temperature 15 °C.

    Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

    Rain sweeps east Tuesday morning, drier with gales in the afternoon. Remaining unsettled on Wednesday and Thursday with strong winds and outbreaks of rain at times.

    UK forecast for the next 5 days

    Overnight rain clearing with sunshine and blustery showers following.


    Rain clearing far southeast by lunchtime, leaving sunny spells and blustery showers. Showers most frequent and heaviest with hail and thunder in the west and northwest. Best of the sunshine towards the south and east, though markedly cooler than Saturday.


    Windy in the north and west with further showers, some heavy in the northwest. Mostly dry and clear elsewhere before cloud and persistent rain expected from the southwest around dawn.


    Turning increasingly wet and windy from the west, though some southeastern parts could stay dry. Temperatures for some slightly above normal but not feeling it in the wind and rain.

    Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

    Feeling autumnal this week. Frontal systems will progress eastwards bringing periods of wet and windy weather, especially in the north, but some dry spells too.

    UK Outlook for Friday 30 Sep 2016 to Sunday 9 Oct 2016:

    Cool with sunshine and showers on Friday and Saturday with strong wind perhaps giving gales in the north or northwest with the showers most frequent here. There is low confidence by early next week but an unsettled pattern is most likely to continue, with spells of rain mixed with brighter, drier but occasional showery interludes. The northwest should see the most of the wet weather, with a risk of gales at times. Drier in southeastern parts, but some rain and breezy conditions are still possible. There is the slight chance that drier weather may spread to all parts for a few days from mid-week. Temperatures will vary but should average out to around normal for the time of year with some overnight frosts.
