    Cloudy as showery rain turns persistent in Argyll and occasionally heavy. The rain will then edge southwards into all areas overnight. Remaining windy with strong to gale force winds. Minimum Temperature 8C.

    Sunday:

    Staying cloudy with persistent and occasionally heavy rain continuing throughout the day. The rain heaviest and most persistent across Argyll. Winds will ease slightly during the day. Maximum Temperature 14C.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

    Persistent rain, heavy at times, in north with occasional outbreaks in south, clearing overnight. Brighter on Tuesday with showers in northwest. Dry on Wednesday, then rain into far west later.

    Windy with frequent showers northwest Scotland. Mostly fine elsewhere.

    Today:

    Frequent showers will push across northwest Scotland, often heavy. It will be windy here too, with coastal severe gales. Variable cloud and sunny spells elsewhere, with a few showers, these mainly in the west.

    Tonight:

    Persistent heavy rain will arrive in northwest Scotland. Generally dry elsewhere, but some patchy rain/drizzle in the west. Windy in the north, with severe gales continuing across northwest Scotland.

    Sunday:

    The very wet and windy weather continues across the northwest. Generally windy elsewhere but much drier and brighter, particularly in the east, with some patchy drizzle in the west.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

    Wet and windy northwest Monday, drier elsewhere. Wind and rain eases and moves south Tuesday, giving cloud and drizzle for south Britain Wednesday. Drier, chillier weather follows further north.

    UK Outlook for Thursday 30 Oct 2014 to Saturday 8 Nov 2014:

    Becoming generally cloudy across the UK, but staying dry with bright spells across southern and eastern parts on Thursday. Northern and western parts will become wetter with outbreaks of rain. The rain will likely become heavier and more persistent later that day. Winds also increase, becoming strong in the west, and gales may develop across the far northwest. A north-south split then looks most likely to dominate. The most wetter, windier conditions likely in the north and northwest; with gales, perhaps even severe gales in the far northwest, next weekend. The best of the drier weather likely in the south and southeast; although there is likely to be some rain here at times. Temperatures generally near normal, but perhaps falling slightly below average later with snow on Scottish mountains possible.

    UK Outlook for Sunday 9 Nov 2014 to Sunday 23 Nov 2014:

    The main signal is for a continuation of a north-south split during the second week of November. During this period, the generally westerly flow is likely to bring spells of wet and windy weather, mostly affecting northern and some western areas. However, southern and some eastern areas will probably see more in the way of drier and settled conditions increasing the likelihood of some sunshine, but also the risk of frost, mist and fog overnight, the latter of which could be slow to clear. After this it looks set to turn more changeable across the south and east. Daytime temperatures will probably be near or a little above normal, although feeling cooler during any wet and windy spells.
