    Further showers, and a longer spell of rain and hill snow for a time, perhaps settling on the higher parts of the A9. Minimum Temperature 2C.

    Wednesday:

    Rain, with snow on high ground perhaps slow to clear north and east Highland, otherwise bright with a few showers, wintry on hills. Maximum Temperature 9C.

    Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

    A bright but cold few days, with a mixture of clear or sunny spells and showers, wintry on higher ground. Mainly dry on Saturday. Some night frosts.

    Today:

    A breezy day with a mixture of sunny spells and some showers. Showers most frequent in the north and west. Some of the showers will be heavy at times and falling as snow over the higher ground. Feeling cool.

    Tonight:

    A band of rain will move into the northwest of the UK and spread southeastwards overnight, reaching central and southwestern areas by dawn. Dry ahead of this, with clear spells.

    Wednesday:

    Rain will slowly clear southeastern parts. Elsewhere, mainly dry with sunny spells with some showers possible in the northwest. Further rain and hill snow will also affect eastern Scotland.

    Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

    Sunny spells and scattered heavy showers likely on Thursday. Drier on Friday with sunny spells and just a few showers. Turning windier later Saturday with some rain, mainly in west.

    UK Outlook for Saturday 2 May 2015 to Monday 11 May 2015:

    Northern and eastern parts of the UK should remain mainly dry with some sunny spells, though a few showers are possible on Saturday, these perhaps turning wintry over higher ground in Scotland. It will turn increasingly cloudy in the south and west from Saturday onwards with outbreaks of rain at times. These will probably move northeastwards to affect all parts by Bank Holiday Monday. The rest of the period is expected to remain unsettled, with the wettest conditions in the north and west, and the best of the drier and brighter spells in the south. It is expected to be windy at times with a risk of gales in places. Temperatures throughout the period are likely to be below average with local night frosts, especially in the northeast.

    UK Outlook for Tuesday 12 May 2015 to Tuesday 26 May 2015:

    Changeable and often unsettled conditions are most likely to persist for much of this period, though it may turn more settled for a time from around mid-May onwards. Conditions will be fairly typical for the time of year, with most areas experiencing spells of fine and bright weather interspersed with more changeable conditions. The most unsettled conditions are likely to be across central and northern areas, with the best of the settled weather more likely in the in the south and southeast. Daytime temperatures are likely to be near or a little below average, throughout. Spells of more settled weather are likely to be accompanied by chilly evenings with isolated overnight frost in rural areas.
