    Further showers during morning over Western Isles and West Highlands, becoming more isolated in the afternoon. A mostly dry day further east with sunny spells, with the odd shower later. Fresh southwesterlies at first over Isles, otherwise lighter southerly winds. Maximum Temperature 16 °C.


    Any showers dying out with some clear spells this evening and early tonight, turning chilly for a time. Clouding over overnight with some rain arriving by morning. Minimum Temperature 5 °C.


    Cloudy with some rain in the morning but soon clearing to brighter drier weather though some blustery showers will reach the far north. Southwesterly gales developing, locally severe later. Maximum Temperature 16 °C.

    Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

    Becoming cloudy with rain, heavy and persistent in west, clearing later as gales return, possibly severe. Thursday and Friday bright and showery with strong winds, gales possible.

    Staying unsettled with outbreaks of rain and strong winds.


    Heavy rain will move in from the southwest through today, affecting Wales and the southwest in particular. Northern Scotland and Northern Ireland will stay driest and brightest but some showers are likely to develop here.


    The rain will continue across most south and central areas tonight, perhaps with some heavier bursts. Towards dawn occasional rain will affect many but it'll be mild for most.


    Tuesday will start grey and damp with patchy rain across western parts. Locally heavy rain will clear to the east later but it'll be windy in the north.

    Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

    Windy for most on Wednesday with rain and coastal gales in the north. Rain will clear south-eastwards through Thursday and Friday with sunshine and blustery showers following.

    UK Outlook for Friday 30 Sep 2016 to Sunday 9 Oct 2016:

    Cool with sunshine and showers on Friday and Saturday with strong wind perhaps giving gales in the north or northwest with the showers most frequent here. There is low confidence by early next week but an unsettled pattern is most likely to continue, with spells of rain mixed with brighter, drier but occasional showery interludes. The northwest should see the most of the wet weather, with a risk of gales at times. Drier in southeastern parts, but some rain and breezy conditions are still possible. There is the slight chance that drier weather may spread to all parts for a few days from mid-week. Temperatures will vary but should average out to around normal for the time of year with some overnight frosts.
