A mainly dry day with some sunshine. Scattered light showers.

    Today:

Dry for most with some sunny spells, the best of these across the south. A few light showers are possible, mainly over the Trossachs and the Perthshire hills. Freshening southeasterly winds keeping east Fife and Angus coasts cooler. Maximum Temperature 14 °C.

    Tonight:

A mainly dry evening and night though a very light shower can't be ruled out in Tayside. Some longer clear spells towards Stirling and Balfron. Quite breezy. Minimum Temperature 6 °C.

    Sunday:

A dry day with cloud breaking to give more in the way of sunshine. Strong southeasterly winds keeping eastern areas rather cool, but warmer in the west, especially the Trossachs. Maximum Temperature 15 °C.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Cloudier on Monday, perhaps a little rain for a time, otherwise the dry settled weather will continue and the winds will ease. Quite warm away from eastern coasts.

UK forecast for the next 5 days

Dry today with warm sunny spells

    Today:

Most places will stay dry all day, with sunny spells, particularly in the south. It will become windy in the west, though it will feel warmer than in recent days. A few showers will affect Northern Ireland and Scotland.

    Tonight:

It will be dry, mild and breezy overnight so mist and fog are only likely in the Scottish Mountains. Rain will arrive in the far south-west late in the night.

    Sunday:

Tomorrow will be windy everywhere. The rain in the southwest will gradually spread into south Wales and southern England but northern and eastern parts will stay dry and often sunny.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

The bank holiday will be wet for many, including heavy showers in the south. Scotland is likely to stay dry with sunshine. Tuesday and Wednesday will be drier and warmer.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Wednesday 3 May 2017 to Friday 12 May 2017:

It will be largely fine and dry on Wednesday and Thursday, with bright or sunny spells likely. A few light showers are possible in the south, but it will be warm, or very warm in the west. Then from Friday onwards we are likely to see high pressure dominate. Easterly winds will develop, with largely dry and settled weather prevailing, and increasing amounts of sunshine. The settled weather is also likely to bring rather warm temperatures, especially during the sunnier interludes. It will feel cooler along eastern coasts however, and there will be the risk of sea fog at times here too. Some isolated showers may also be possible, again in the south or southwest.

UK Outlook for Friday 12 May 2017 to Friday 26 May 2017:

Heading into the middle of May, continued dry and settled weather remains most probable. There may however be some occasional wetter interludes though, with the south most likely to see these. Temperatures are likely to remain above average for the time of year, and they will possibly become very warm at times. It will also likely continue to be drier than average.
