    Dry this evening and overnight with some clear spells in the west. Low cloud and murky conditions will affect Caithness and down into Tain and the Black Isle. Light winds. Minimum Temperature 11C.

    Friday:

    Cloudy and misty in east at first. Sunny intervals in the west but clouding over with rain into Stornoway by midday and across the rest of the area by evening. Maximum Temperature 19C.

    Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

    Dry with sunny spells on Saturday with a fresher northwesterly wind. Dry with sunny spells on Sunday. Clouding over with rain on Monday.

    Turning mostly bright and warm. Isolated showers in the south.

    Today:

    Murky to start for many but brightening up with warm sunny spells as low cloud and mist becomes confined to northeastern Britain. Risk of heavy, thundery showers in the south, most likely in the southwest, although many places staying dry.

    Tonight:

    Low cloud, mist and fog in the northeast will spread westwards across central parts overnight. Risk of thundery showers persists in southern Britain.

    Friday:

    Scattered heavy, thundery showers across south and central areas. Elsewhere rather cloudy but mostly dry aside from some rain in North Scotland.

    Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

    Warm sunny spells developing away from the northeast Saturday. Largely dry but some thundery showers possible southern and central parts. Mainly fine Sunday and Monday but rain in northwest later.

    UK Outlook for Tuesday 23 Sep 2014 to Thursday 2 Oct 2014:

    At first it should be dry for most with some good sunny spells. Northwestern areas though are likely to be cloudier with some rain or drizzle. It will also be breezy here with the risk of gales in the far northwest. As we go through the week the more unsettled conditions look set to spread across many northern and western parts, with some heavy spells of rain. Southern, and southeastern areas in particularly, are probably going to hold onto the drier and brighter weather with some sunny periods, and perhaps a few showers. Temperatures will be around normal, if not warm in the south and east. The setup looks to remain similar heading into the following week; unsettled in the north and west, some rain in the south and east.

    UK Outlook for Friday 3 Oct 2014 to Friday 17 Oct 2014:

    The UK is likely to see changeable conditions through this period, with a mixture of fine and settled weather, interspersed with occasional unsettled spells. The drier and brighter conditions are expected to be most prolonged across the south and east. Here, daytime temperatures are likely to be around, and often above, average with some warm sunshine. However it could turn quite chilly during the nights, with a risk of fog patches in places. Northern and western parts are likely to see more in the way of outbreaks of rain. Daytime temperatures here are set to be below or close to average.
