    Mainly cloudy with frequent showers continuing through the evening and overnight. Remaining windy with strong to gale force westerly winds, perhaps easing for a time over northern Shetland. Minimum Temperature 9 °C.

    Sunday:

    Further showers during the morning with strong to gale force northwesterly winds. Fewer showers in the afternoon and evening with longer sunny spells as winds slowly ease. Maximum Temperature 15 °C.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

    A lot of dry weather with occasional bright spells. Some showery rain may move north into Orkney on Wednesday. Mostly light winds, but freshening from the northeast on Wednesday.

    Central and southern areas will be rather cloudy but still with some warmer, brighter spells. Some light rain or drizzle is possible, mainly over western hills. Windy in the north with some blustery showers, local gales in the far north.

    Tonight:

    Strong to gale force winds in the far north. Outbreaks of rain in the northwest. Mainly fine and dry elsewhere, but further rain or drizzle possible in the southwest later.

    Sunday:

    Winds easing across all parts. Sunny spells and scattered showers in the north. Cloudier in the south with patchy rain or drizzle at first in the west, turning drier later.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

    Unsettled and rather cloudy, with some brighter spells. Locally heavy rain at times, especially in central and northern parts. Some thundery showers possible in the southeast, where warm at times.

    UK Outlook for Wednesday 28 Jun 2017 to Friday 7 Jul 2017:

    Changeable weather is likely to continue at the start of this period with cloud and rain clearing to sunshine and showers on Wednesday. These are likely to be heaviest in the north and northeast with the best of any drier spells likely in the south and southwest. The rest of this period will remain unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain. The showers could be heavy and thundery at times, interspersed with brief drier and brighter spells, these most likely in the east. It will often be windy, especially in the north and west where there is a risk of local gales at times. Temperatures will be near normal or rather cool, especially compared to recently, although it may be warmer at times in the southeast.

    UK Outlook for Saturday 8 Jul 2017 to Saturday 22 Jul 2017:

    The changeable weather is likely to continue at first, bringing further showers or longer spells of rain with only brief bright or sunny spells in between. However, drier and warmer spells are likely to become more prevalent during the second week of July and these may perhaps become more widespread as we head into the second half of the month. This will bring more in the way of sunshine and higher temperatures, with perhaps some very warm spells possible. However, an increase in temperatures also poses the threat of some thundery showers.
