    A dry day with a fair amount of cloud especially in east, with the best of the brightness across Moray and northern Aberdeenshire. Maximum Temperature 16 °C.

    Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

    It will be mostly cloudy throughout the outlook period with some spells of rain, this possibly more persistent later on Saturday. Some bright spells in far south on Monday.

    Heavy rain across northern and eastern Scotland will gradually ease overnight. Staying mostly dry elsewhere in the north and east, with clear spells. Further west, cloudy and windy with showers or longer spells of rain.

    Friday:

    Mostly dry and bright for central and eastern counties. Meanwhile, rain, heavy at times, will spread across western parts, inching eastwards as the day progresses. Very windy in the west.

    Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

    Unsettled with showers, sometimes heavy and thundery, or longer spells of rain at times. However, some sunshine also likely. Feeling rather cool for most. Breezy at times too.

    UK Outlook for Tuesday 25 Jul 2017 to Thursday 3 Aug 2017:

    Many areas will be dry on Tuesday with some sunny spells but there is the chance of a few showers, especially in the east. Early on Wednesday, there is an increasing chance of cloud and rain spreading into western areas, accompanied by strengthening winds. Staying unsettled through the rest of the week as bands of rain continue to move in from the west, interspersed by brighter and showery interludes. Rain or showers could be heavy at times, especially in the northwest, with the driest weather further south and east. It will be windy at times with the risk of gales across the north, and often rather cool, especially in the west. This changeable weather is likely to continue into the start of August, especially in the north.

    There is low confidence throughout this period. We are likely to see some fine, dry spells of weather across the United Kingdom, but also some unsettled weather at times, mainly in the north. Temperatures are likely to recover to some extent with warmer than average temperatures at times through to mid-August, but there may be cooler conditions at times, especially in the northwest.
