    Mainly dry with bright then clear spells in the east. Cloudier with a few showers for a time in west. Windy, with westerly gales along the Banff and Buchan coast. Minimum Temperature 9 °C.

    Sunday:

    A windy morning with bright spells and scattered showers, but gales near the Buchan coast. Mainly dry in the afternoon with sunny spells and winds slowly easing. Maximum Temperature 18 °C.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

    Mainly dry on Monday but perhaps some rain in the evening. Tuesday and Wednesday look mainly cloudy with showery rain and feeling on the cool side with a northeasterly breeze.

    Central and southern areas will be rather cloudy but still with some warmer, brighter spells. Some light rain or drizzle is possible, mainly over western hills. Windy in the north with some blustery showers, local gales in the far north.

    Strong to gale force winds in the far north. Outbreaks of rain in the northwest. Mainly fine and dry elsewhere, but further rain or drizzle possible in the southwest later.

    Sunday:

    Winds easing across all parts. Sunny spells and scattered showers in the north. Cloudier in the south with patchy rain or drizzle at first in the west, turning drier later.

    Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

    Unsettled and rather cloudy, with some brighter spells. Locally heavy rain at times, especially in central and northern parts. Some thundery showers possible in the southeast, where warm at times.

    Changeable weather is likely to continue with cloud and rain affecting most parts on Thursday, though it will be fairly warm in the north and east. Some drier and brighter periods are likely on Friday, probably in the south and west. The rest of this period will remain unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain. The showers could be heavy and thundery at times, interspersed with brief drier and brighter spells, most likely in the south and east. It will often be windy, especially in the north and west where there will be a risk of local gales at times. Temperatures are expected to drop to near normal or rather cool, especially compared to recently, although it may be warmer at times in the southeast.

    UK Outlook for Sunday 9 Jul 2017 to Sunday 23 Jul 2017:

    The changeable weather is likely to continue in the north at first, bringing further showers or longer spells of rain with only brief bright or sunny spells in between. However, drier and warmer spells are likely to become more prevalent in the south and these may spread further north as we head into the second half of the month. These will bring more in the way of sunshine and higher temperatures, and there could be some very warm spells. However, an increase in temperatures would pose the threat of some thundery showers.
