Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Wednesday 6 Aug 2014 to Friday 15 Aug 2014:

A mixture of sunshine and scattered showers are likely during Wednesday and Thursday, although southern and eastern parts are likely to see more frequent drier intervals and sunny spells. It then remains unsettled Friday and into the weekend, especially in the northwest but with a low risk of thundery showers in the south and east at times. A gradual trend to more settled conditions across the south is then signalled by the end of the period, with more in the way of drier and brighter weather, but likely to stay unsettled across the northwest. Temperatures generally near normal, but often warm towards the south and east. Winds generally light to moderate, but locally strong in the northwest at times.

UK Outlook for Saturday 16 Aug 2014 to Saturday 30 Aug 2014:

Current signals are for westerly type conditions to dominate during this period. As such, most regions can expect to see spells of fine weather, with some warm sunshine at times. However these spells will then be interspersed with more changeable conditions bringing showery outbreaks and perhaps more prolonged spells of rain. These conditions are most likely across northern and western parts, whilst southern and eastern parts are likely to see the most frequent and prolonged fine spells. There is also a trend for temperatures to be around or above average, and perhaps turning very warm at times during the more settled spells, particularly in the south and east.
