Rain Wednesday morning. Brighter later with showers in the south.

This Evening and Tonight:

It should be dry through the evening with clear spells. Later in the night cloud will increase with scattered showers developing after midnight and rain arriving in the west of the region by dawn. Minimum Temperature 4C.

Wednesday:

Rain will gradually move east, becoming locally heavy and reaching the far southeast by afternoon. Brighter conditions will follow into the west, although scattered, sharp showers continuing in southern counties. Maximum Temperature 12C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Thursday: Sunshine and scattered showers, some heavy, slow moving, perhaps with hail and thunder. Friday generally dry, bright with light winds. Saturday cloudier with a chance of rain. Remaining cold.

Sunny spells and showers, wintry in the north.

Today:

A breezy day with a mixture of sunny spells and some showers. Showers most frequent in the north and west. Some of the showers will be heavy at times and falling as snow over the higher ground. Feeling cool.

Tonight:

A band of rain will move into the northwest of the UK and spread southeastwards overnight, reaching central and southwestern areas by dawn. Dry ahead of this, with clear spells.

Wednesday:

Rain will slowly clear southeastern parts. Elsewhere, mainly dry with sunny spells with some showers possible in the northwest. Further rain and hill snow will also affect eastern Scotland.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Sunny spells and scattered heavy showers likely on Thursday. Drier on Friday with sunny spells and just a few showers. Turning windier later Saturday with some rain, mainly in west.

UK Outlook for Sunday 3 May 2015 to Tuesday 12 May 2015:

Cloudy across most parts of the UK on Sunday with outbreaks of rain, although the north of Scotland may stay dry with some sunshine. Many areas will stay cloudy with some rain on Bank Holiday Monday, although the far north of Scotland may well remain fine and dry. Drier and brighter conditions, accompanied by a few showers, are likely to spread to southwestern parts later. From Tuesday onwards it is expected to remain unsettled with showers or longer spells of rain, with the west and southwest likely to experience the wettest conditions. It is expected to be windy at times with a risk of gales in places and temperatures throughout the period are likely to be below average with local night frosts, especially in the northeast.

UK Outlook for Wednesday 13 May 2015 to Wednesday 27 May 2015:

Changeable and often unsettled conditions are most likely to persist for much of this period, though some areas may have some more settled weather for a time at first. Otherwise, conditions will be fairly typical for the time of year, with most areas experiencing spells of fine and bright weather interspersed with more changeable conditions. The most unsettled conditions are likely to be across central and northern areas, with the best of the settled weather more likely in the in the south and southeast. Daytime temperatures are likely to be near or a little below average, throughout. Spells of more settled weather are likely to be accompanied by chilly evenings with isolated overnight frost in rural areas.
