Map - Leisure forecast
This section of the website hosts forecasts for a range of different leisure venues including beaches, places of interest and national parks. Where appropriate, specific content is available for the location type e.g. beach safety information for beach locations.
Change location
To change the forecast location, enter a location or the first half of a UK postcode into the search box and then click on the search button. Select the appropriate location and your choice of forecast location from the list provided before clicking on the 'save' button. Alternatively you can select from your list of favourite locations. By clicking on the 'star' you are able to save up to 5 favourite locations.
For web browsers that have geolocation capabilites, you can also use the 'find my location' button to automatically find your location. Find out more in the Guide to leisure forecasts.
Bays and estuaries
Forecasts are available for around 100 bays and estuaries around the UK. Forecasts for these locations are available for five days ahead and include the full range of weather elements.
Beaches
Forecasts are available for around 500 beaches around the UK as identified in the Good Beach Guide. As well as the usual five day forecast elements additional beach safety information is available including tide times, on/off-shore wind and offshore sea state. This will automatically be displayed if you select a beach location. Use of inflatable watercraft is not recommended in strong offshore winds. Follow the advice given by lifeguards.
National parks
In addition to regional and location forecasts, a brief twenty word forecast is also available for each of the National Park Authorities in the UK and for the Mournes in Northern Ireland.
Places of interest
Forecasts are available for around 500 places of interest around the UK including a range of historic properties, gardens, country parks and heritage sites. Forecasts include the full range of weather elements for five days ahead.
Sports and recreation
Forecasts are available for around 350 sports and outdoor recreation venues around the UK. Forecasts for these locations include the full range of weather elements and are available for five days ahead. Additional forecasts are provided for key lifestyle and sporting events on our events pages.
Summits
Forecasts are available for around 300 mountain summit locations across the UK. This area of the website provides a quick and easy way to view summit forecasts to help you plan your trip. Summit forecasts should always be considered alongside our Mountain area forecast.
Youth Hostel Association (YHA) locations
Forecasts are available for around 300 YHA youth hostels around the UK giving a good coverage of tourist destinations. Five day forecasts for a range of weather elements are available for these locations.
