Dry overnight with variable amounts of cloud. Patchy mist may develop in the east where clear spells form, but a strengthening breeze should keep mist and fog at bay elsewhere. Minimum Temperature 10 °C.

Wednesday:

Wednesday will be dry at first with sunny spells, and it will feel a little fresher with brisk winds. Outbreaks of rain will spread in from the southwest later on. Maximum Temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Thursday will be mostly dry with some sunshine. Friday will be breezy with outbreaks of rain but drier in the evening. Sunshine and showers on Saturday, rain possible later.

What are tides?

Tides refer to the rise and fall of a body of water, most commonly seen in the oceans; caused by the interaction between the moon, sun and Earth.

As the positions of Earth, sun and moon change in relation to each other, the gravitational pull and centrifugal forces acting upon the oceans vary and it is these differences that cause fluctuation in the height of the sea which we see at the tides going out and in.

In the UK we mostly experience a semi-diurnal tide which means we experience two high tides and two low tides each day. These occur approximately every 12 hours and 25 minutes.
