There will be some outbreaks of rain through tonight. Towards dawn it will become mostly dry though, and it will stay mild and frost free. Minimum Temperature 6 °C.

Friday:

Friday will start largely dry. There will be some sunshine into the afternoon but we could see a few showers, however they will ease later in the day. Maximum Temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Saturday mostly dry and bright but becoming windy. Heavy outbreaks of rain moving eastwards on Sunday and then some brightness on Monday, but further rain is possible later.

What are tides?

Tides refer to the rise and fall of a body of water, most commonly seen in the oceans; caused by the interaction between the moon, sun and Earth.

As the positions of Earth, sun and moon change in relation to each other, the gravitational pull and centrifugal forces acting upon the oceans vary and it is these differences that cause fluctuation in the height of the sea which we see at the tides going out and in.

In the UK we mostly experience a semi-diurnal tide which means we experience two high tides and two low tides each day. These occur approximately every 12 hours and 25 minutes.
