Description

Showers or longer spells of rain will spread from the south early on Friday morning and will continue through much of the day before clearing in the evening. Some heavy, thundery bursts of rain are likely which brings the risk of localised flooding to roads and low-lying land. Please be aware of the risk of some disruption to travel.

Chief Forecaster's assessment

Showers will become more widespread across Scotland on Thursday night and these will become slow moving as they reach northeast Scotland early on Friday morning. Some heavy thundery bursts of rain could bring 10 mm in an hour in places while through the day 20-30 mm is likely, with isolated totals of 40 mm possible.
