| Collaboration and Partnerships |
The Met Office aims to:
- build academic and research relationships with centres of excellence to develop the capability of the Unified Model;
- collaborate with NMSs and partners, by combining skills, capabilities, and aligning research and development programmes;
- ultimately developing a joint Unified Model programme to deliver mutual benefit to the Met Office, its partners and their customers.
Unified Model partners currently include:
Unified Model partnerships are based upon collaboration agreements with the Met Office. Each agreement includes an operational and research licence, and an agreed programme of research and development work which aims to waive the standard annual licence fee. Australian Bureau of Meteorology, Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Norwegian Meteorological Institute and the South African Weather Service

Partners running configurations of the Unified Model, pursuing collaborative activities identified in agreed research and development plans, may access an External Collaboration support website. Support is also available by contacting the External Collaboration Support Scientist.
