The figure below shows a profile from one of our UK Argo floats (WMO# 49067, Argos# 30029) on 22 March 2001 at 62.1° N, 32.3° W. The purple markers show data as reported in TESAC format on the GTS, the blue line shows the full-resolution float profile as extracted from the raw data. This shows the greater precision, particularly in the salinity, over those data which are reported on GTS. In this example the profiles show the presence of a surface mixed layer which is approximately 40 metres deep.
