Chris works within the High performance computing team to ensure the Met Office's scientific codes run optimally on its HPC resources.

Current Activities

Optimising the Unified Model code using OpenMP and MPI. Chris also works on post processing codes making both serial and parallel optimisations.

Career Background

Joined the Met Office in July 2010. Obtained a BSc in Physics at Liverpool University. Chris then gained an EPSRC grant to study for an MSc in High performance computing at Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre at University of Edinburgh.
