Current activities

Peter's work focuses on regional reanalysis for the European domain. In particular he is part of the project team for the EU-funded EURO4M reanalysis working on validation of results and precipitation products.

Career background

Peter has worked in Data Assimilation and Ensembles at the Met Office since 2008 after graduating with a PhD in mathematical modelling of magnetic recording from the University of Plymouth. From 2010 to 2012 he was a member of the Ensemble Data Assimilation team where he focused on developing ensemble data assimilation for use operationally. Before 2010 he was a member of the Global Data Assimilation team where his research concentrated on developing an outer loop for 4D-Var.
