Peter's current activities fall into two main areas. Firstly, weather sensitivity analysis: investigating the statistical correaltion between operational data from a broad range of customers and weather and climate data. Secondly, the support of the development and delivery of Virtual Met Mast analysis of potential sites for wind energy generation.
Peter graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in Natural Sciences, specialising in Physics. He has worked in a range of roles within applied science, bridging technical and business development roles in the silicon chip and telecommunications industries, having worked for GEC, Siemens AG (in Munich) and Nortel Networks. He obtained an Executive MBA from Cranfield University in 1998.
In 2002 he joined the Met Office, working in marketing management and business development of services for the road and rail industries. He joined the scientific consultancy group in September 2007.
