On-demand forecasts

Mobile users are now able to get on-demand video weather forecasts to their phones.

We provide the very latest weather information via our mobile portal. A bespoke on-demand video weather forecast is available on mobile devices three times a day, providing a national forecast for the UK.

The forecasts are updated several times a day and come from the Met Office's television studio in Millbank, London.

Our studio is equipped with the latest technology, enabling us to produce a wide variety of services - from ready-to-air TV bulletins to broadcasts for the web and mobiles.

We have worked with Akamai Technologies Ltd to manage and track the website's mobile TV weather service. This includes everything from ingesting and encoding the content, and deploying and maintaining the mobile site.
