Weather and your health

Information and support to protect your health and well being.

Conditions such as heatwaves, snow or ice can have a significant impact on your health, but keeping informed about the weather and staying prepared can help you to stay safe and well.

Our health pages provide you with information and advice about steps you can take to protect yourself from the elements. We also work closely with the Department of Health and Public Health England to offer our advice in planning and preparing for any severe weather.

Our health forecasts - UV and sun health, Pollen forecast, Air pollutionCold Weather Alert and Heat-Health Watch - give you early warning of weather conditions so you can take proactive steps to protect yourself and better manage your symptoms.

Information for health professionals and researchers is also available but to find out more about our health services and expertise please contact our Weather Desk or email health@metoffice.gov.uk
