A focus on climate change
The insurance industry will be significantly affected by expected changes in weather patterns, especially in the occurrence of severe weather events. Particular areas of interest include the following:
- changes in wind-storm patterns
- changes in wind frequencies
- changes in wind intensities
- coastal and inland flooding
- subsidence
We are working with insurers to assess the impacts of climate change.
The knowledge we have gained over the years, and our proven skills in forecasting, are combined in training courses that are specifically designed for the insurance industry.

Languages
All courses will be taught in English. In order to ensure that students make the most of our courses, they must be able to understand, read and write in English at a high level. For students entering a foundation training programme, it may be possible to arrange training in English prior to the course.
