This course provides road maintenance decision-makers with an essential guide to weather information. It is designed for staff that have not had any road meteorology training.
Aim: To explain the weather practically in relation to road operations. Attendees will be able to get the most from their forecasts and consultancy services, helping them to make informed road maintenance decisions all year round.
Designed for: Winter service decision makers, road engineers, asset managers and consultants.
Course length: One day.
Location: Courses can be held in the excellent Met Office College facilities at our Exeter headquarters or at a location of your choice.
On completion of this course you will be able to:
- state how the weather affects roads;
- effectively use different sources of weather information;
- assess the risk to the road network in any weather situation;
- demonstrate an understanding of their forecast.
