Weather Refresher

a modular course building on previous road meteorology training

This interactive and practical refresher course reinforces and builds on existing weather knowledge and previous road meteorology training.

Course length: One day.

Location: Courses can be held in the excellent Met Office College facilities at our Exeter headquarters or at a location of your choice.

Designed for: Winter service decision makers, road engineers, asset managers and consultants.

Aim: To build on previous road meteorology training by using case studies and practical examples to help get the most out of the available forecasts for the ultimate operational efficiency.

After completing this course you will be able to

  • Demonstrate an improved understanding of how both general and severe weather affects roads;
  • update your knowledge of the different weather monitoring and forecast methods;
  • confirm that you can effectively use different sources of weather information and make the most of your forecast;
  • assess the risk to the road network in any weather situation including marginal nights.
