This interactive and practical refresher course reinforces and builds on existing weather knowledge and previous road meteorology training.
Aim: To build on previous road meteorology training by using case studies and practical examples to help get the most out of the available forecasts for the ultimate operational efficiency.
Designed for: Winter service decision makers, road engineers, asset managers and consultants.
Course length: One day.
Location: Courses can be held in the excellent Met Office College facilities at our Exeter headquarters or at a location of your choice.
After completing this course you will be able to
- Demonstrate an improved understanding of how both general and severe weather affects roads;
- update your knowledge of the different weather monitoring and forecast methods;
- confirm that you can effectively use different sources of weather information and make the most of your forecast;
- assess the risk to the road network in any weather situation including marginal nights.
