Senior Trainer, Met Office College
I joined the Met Office as a forecaster in 2003 after completing a degree in Meteorology at the University of Reading. After qualifying as a forecaster, I worked at various military bases around the UK gaining experience in forecasting for helicopters, fast jets and long-haul aircraft. In 2005 I moved to the Met Office in Exeter, forecasting for commercial airports across the UK. Joining the World Area Forecasting Centre run by the Met Office in 2008, I produced medium- and high-level aviation charts for the world. Transferring to the Met Office College in 2009, I now train new forecasters and help experienced forecasters enhance their skills. This included travelling to Prague this year to teach aviation forecasters at the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute.
