Detailed rainfall radar images
See rainfall in more detail, as it happens
For a more detailed view of rainfall, higher resolution radar images are now available with a five minute update frequency for the water industry.
Radar rainfall information is generated by the Met Office's UK comprehensive network of 18 weather radars.
- Information provided on the same platform as the National Severe Weather Warnings and Flood Guidance Statements from the joint Met Office and Environment Agency Flood Forecasting Centre, assisting decision making via a single platform.
- A detailed visual overview of rainfall aiding response to emergency events by showing where and how much rain is falling.
- Heightened and up-to-date detail of recent rainfall in your region enabling informed decision-making, based on the latest information.
- Clear colouring to distinguish intense rainfall from widespread light rain ensuring appropriate levels of response by operations managers.
We are also able to offer our water customers detailed six-hour rainfall forecasts (nowcasts), to enable you to predict rainfall paths and impacts on critical catchments and assets ahead of time.
