A broad west or southwesterly airflow covers northwest Europe with a series of frontal troughs crossing the British Isles as a Low south of Iceland swings northeast. Pressure remains high over southern Europe but a shallow area of low pressure over the Atlantic is moving east towards the Bay of Biscay.
