The Turkish winter is not particularly warm, with daily average maximum temperatures reaching about 10 °C (50 °F). Just 2 or 3 hours of sunshine can be expected on average per day, and it is a wet season with only about 12 or 13 dry days per month. The beginning of spring continues with similar average conditions, but a steady warming up is occurring. By May, daily average maximum temperatures have reached 21 °C (70 °F), daily sunshine hours have increased to a more respectable 9 hours, and the average number of dry days has risen to about 23. The summertime brings quite hot weather to Turkey, with daily average maximum temperatures climbing to about 28 °C (82 °F) by August. It is a reasonably dry season, with up to 27 dry days each month. 11 or 12 hours of sunshine can be expected on average. Autumn sees a rather rapid decline in average maximum temperatures.
Values of 15 °C (59 °F) will be recorded by November.
