The existing Vista, Firefox and iGoogle gadgets will be retired over the next six months. During this time we will gradually be switching off the various datafeeds to the gadgets, starting with the warnings in late March, so you will see data becoming unavailable. The gadgets will be replaced by the new Desktop Widget which will be compatible with a wide range of operating systems and will be available from late March. Find out about:
Gadgets are a category of mini-application designed to provide information, useful lookup, or enhance an application or service on your PC. The Met Office has developed weather gadgets for Windows Vista, Mozilla Firefox and iGoogle.
Weather gadget for Windows Vista
The Windows Vista gadget is accessed via the Vista sidebar. The latest weather report is shown at first, more
information can be scrolled through on flyouts.
Weather gadget for Mozilla Firefox
On Mozilla Firefox, the information is presented in a sidebar and you can choose which elements to show and hide.

Get the latest weather information on your iGoogle home page with the Met Office iGoogle gadget.
