Weather gadget retired

The previous Vista, Firefox and iGoogle weather gadgets have been retired. They have been replaced with the Desktop Widget which is compatible with Windows and Mac OS X.

Why have you retired the gadgets?

The previous gadgets were dated and did not use the latest information available via our other platforms such as our website and mobile pages and apps. Feedback also indicated that users found them to be quite complex and difficult to understand. The gadgets have therefore been replaced by the new Desktop Widget which provides a single platform which can be accessed via a wide range of operating systems allowing us reach a wider audience than with the three separate gadgets. It also provides efficiencies in not having to develop and maintain separate applications for each browser or operating system.

What do I need to do?

We would encourage you to uninstall your existing weather gadget and install the new Desktop Widget to ensure you have the latest updated information. The links below will provide you with information on how to do this.
