A fine start to the day with overnight fog and frost soon dissolving away leaving some bright or sunny intervals. Cloud and showery rain soon moving into the west this becoming lighter and more patchy as it moves east. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

Dry this evening and at first tonight with some clear intervals however rain will move up from the southwest overnight this reaching all parts and accompanied by strengthening southerly winds. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Monday:

A cloudy wet and windy start to the day but becoming brighter from the west later but with a scattering of showers developing. Staying breezy with gales in the north. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

UK Outlook for Thursday 25 Mar 2010 to Saturday 3 Apr 2010:

Remaining unsettled for the end of March and beginning of April, with most places seeing showers or longer periods of rain at times. Some drier intervals are expected too, chiefly in the east and northeast of the UK at first. Any showers and rain could turn heavy at times and there is a risk of snow, mainly over the high ground of Scotland but possibly extended further south toward the start of April. The wind will also be a feature for some areas, with gales possible in exposed northern and western coastal areas at times. Temperatures may be warm in the south at first but should be generally near normal, although they may dip below normal later in the period, with a risk of frost, especially in the north.

UK Outlook for Sunday 4 Apr 2010 to Sunday 18 Apr 2010:

The weather is likely to be unsettled at first but there are signs it may become more settled at times during the first couple of weeks of April. Temperatures are likely to be close to or just below seasonal averages in most parts, although it may become cold at times and although the risk of frost will mainly be in the north, it may become more widespread at times. Rainfall may be higher than average across many parts of the United Kingdom at first, and there is a continuing risk of snow affecting higher parts of Scotland and northern England at times. Western parts of the UK may become drier by mid-April.
