Persistent spreading in this morning will clear this afternoon before another spell of rain on Sunday morning. Rainfall totals of 25mm are expected during the 24 hour period.

There is a moderate risk of severe weather affecting much of western and southwestern Britain as well as southern Scotland today. Wet and windy conditions with occasionally heavy rain will spread from the south, the rain falling onto already saturated ground. Over higher ground 10 to 20mm of rain will fall quite widely, but locally as much as 40 mm is possible.
