This Evening and Tonight:

Western areas will remain rather damp with patchy rain and drizzle, and some areas of hill fog. The east will be drier with a few fog patches perhaps developing under any clearer spells. Breezy in the far northwest.

Tuesday:

Largely cloudy with rain and drizzle over western hills and coasts; heavy at times in the far northwest. Eastern areas will be brighter. Feeling milder than of late.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Spells of wind and rain will be confined to the northwest; elsewhere generally drier and more settled. Often cloudy, especially in the west, but warm where sunshine breaks through.

UK long range weather forecast

Confidence is low for this weekend, but it looks sunny for many, once patchy rain in the south clears. There will be some blustery showers in the northwest though, with the risk of gales in the far north. Through the latter stages of March, we will see a good deal of dry weather across central and southeastern parts of the UK, with bright or sunny spells. It will be more changeable across the northwest, with rain and strong winds from time to time. Temperatures are most likely to be around the average for the time of year, although some warmer periods are likely in the southeast when the sun shines. However, occasionally in the northwest it may be rather cold.

For the start of April, changeable conditions are likely, with near normal temperatures across the UK. Thereafter, the forecast looks more uncertain, but it seems most likely that we will see changeable conditions across the UK once again. Wet and windy weather may be interspersed with drier and brighter spells, with the most unsettled conditions still probable in the north. By the middle of the month, we may see a return of more widely settled weather. Temperatures could potentially start off a little warmer than average, but they may fall nearer to the seasonal average for a time in early April.
