There may be weather warnings in force for the UK

What's the weather doing this weekend?

UK 5 day weather forecast

Friday 22 Feb - Tuesday 26 Feb

Any fog slowly clearing, then largely dry with sunny spells.

Areas of low cloud and fog across southern/central England will clear from all but southeastern coasts this morning, giving a dry day with hazy sunshine. Cloudier and breezier in the far west with a little rain. Very mild for many.

Misty low cloud will form across southern/central and eastern parts of England, giving fog in places by morning. Dry with clear spells elsewhere, but cloudier and windy in the northwest.

Cloudy and breezy in the northwest with some rain. Elsewhere low cloud and fog will lift through the morning leaving another mild, dry and bright afternoon with sunny spells.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Settled and generally dry across England and Wales with spells of sunshine, although some overnight fog is likely. Often windier and changeable in the far northwest. Remaining mild.

UK long range weather forecast

Tuesday 26 Feb - Thursday 7 Mar

Tuesday and Wednesday will be largely fine and mild with some sunshine, although northwest Scotland could be cloudier with rain and strong winds at times. England and Wales will see some early mist and fog, but this will clear many places through the morning. The largely dry, sunny and mild conditions are likely to continue until the end of February, although rain and strong winds will affect the northwest at times. Temperatures may gradually become closer to normal. Any spells of rain will tend to weaken as they move southeast, just bringing cloudier skies. Overnight frosts are still possible with mist and fog patches too. By early March we are more likely to see Atlantic fronts crossing the whole of the UK bringing stronger winds and rain at times.

Friday 8 Mar - Friday 22 Mar

There are signals for Atlantic fronts to cross the whole of the UK, bringing a mixture of wet and windy weather to many parts, but also intermittent drier spells. Snow remains possible over higher ground in the north, but is unlikely elsewhere. Milder conditions remain more likely, perhaps with occasional colder spells which could bring overnight frosts. The best chance of fine and dry weather with some sunshine will be in the south and east.
