Data formats
A description of the HadUK-Grid data formats
Grid files provide a matrix of values covering the whole of the UK. The files are named with the following convention:
<var_id>_hadukgrid_uk_<resolution>_<frequency>_<startdate>-<enddate>.nc
where var_id is the variable identifier. Resolution is one of 1km, 12km, 25km, 60km, country, region, or river. Frequency is one of day, mon, seas, ann (for daily, monthly, seasonal or annual data) with a suffix of -30y or -20y for long term averages. Start and end dates are in the form YYYYMMDD.
For monthly, seasonal and annual data each file contains 1 year of data. For daily data each file contains 1 calendar month of data.
NetCDF files
The HadUK-Grid are initially only available in Netcdf format.
The metadata structures have been constructed to follow the UKCP18 project
