Regional or national updates to series already in CRUTEM

The following updates to station data have been made in CRUTEM.5.2.0.0 since CRUTEM.5.1.0.0.

China	380	CMA	Updated series with values derived from TMAX and TMIN data provided by CMA. This added station data for 380 stations from January 2024 to June 2026, including replacement of data from CLIMAT messages for 73 stations. Some station locations and elevations were updated to the latest CMA values. Of the 380 CMA stations, latitudes and longitudes were updated for 7 stations with coordinates that differed by more than 0.1 degrees from previous values in CRUTEM5.
Canada	1	-	Removed one station series with breaks in homogeneity between distinct sub-periods (Pangnirtung, station number 718260).
USA	1218	USHCN	Replaced data for 1218 stations for the contiguous United States with values from USHCN. This updates historical series and backfills a data gap caused by interruptions CLIMAT data feeds used in monthly updates.

Effects on global, hemispheric and regional average time series

The following diagnostic plots show comparisons of global and regional average time series for CRUTEM.5.2.0.0 (this version) and CRUTEM.5.1.0.0 (the previous version of CRUTEM5). Plots show data from 1850 to 2026, with 2026 based on data for the first seven months of the year only, with inflated uncertainty in 2026 representing the uncertainty in representing a full year average based on data for an incomplete year.
