Regional Forecast for Central, Tayside & Fife

Headline:

Dry overnight. Bright start Monday, cloudier afternoon with rain later.

This Evening and Tonight:

A dry and bright evening with late sunny spells. Some clear intervals after dark, particularly towards Stirling and the southwest, but becoming cloudy over Angus and much of eastern Perthshire. Winds will remain light. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Monday:

Dry for most of the day although often cloudy, with the best hazy sunshine around Fife and Stirling. Cloudier afternoon with rain spreading to Falkirk, Stirling and Fife by evening. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Tuesday cloudy with occasional mainly light rain. Some heavier, possibly thundery rain overnight and into Wednesday, then brighter with scattered heavy showers later Wednesday and on Thursday.

Rain will continue in the south and west tonight including some heavy bursts. It will feel rather humid here with mist and fog over hills. Northern and eastern parts will stay dry and become rather cool.

Monday:

Rain in Northern Ireland, western Scotland and northwest England will be heavy at times. It will stay mainly cloudy elsewhere but warm bright spells are likely in some southern parts.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Cloud and rain will affect the north on Tuesday and Wednesday, sometimes turning heavy. Southern parts will be dry, bright, humid and very warm. Thursday will be fresher with showers.

UK Outlook for Friday 25 Aug 2017 to Sunday 3 Sep 2017:

Friday and the subsequent bank holiday weekend will stay changeable, with heavy showers or longer spells of rain, particularly in the north and west. However, parts of the south and east may stay mainly dry with some sunny spells. Temperatures will be around normal in most parts, but probably above average in the southeast, bringing a chance of a few thundery showers. It will be windy at times, especially in the north, with a risk of gales here. Into the following week, there remains a lot of uncertainty, although we may continue to see spells of wet and windy weather, particularly in the northwest, with drier spells, mainly in the south. Temperatures will probably be near normal, though perhaps rather warm at times in the south.

UK Outlook for Monday 4 Sep 2017 to Monday 18 Sep 2017:

In the first half of September, we are most likely to see changeable weather conditions featuring across the United Kingdom. However, there will be some dry and fine weather at times too. On balance spells of rain and strong winds are likely to dominate in the north and west, with drier and brighter weather more common in the south and east. Temperatures will probably remain close to normal for the time of year in most parts, though they may become warm or very warm at times in the south.
