East of England weather forecast

Headline:

Rather cool, with sunshine and showers Wednesday. Windy later.

This Evening and Tonight:

Blustery sharp showers becoming fewer and further between overnight, with many eastern parts becoming dry, although coastal districts perhaps retaining showers. Becoming chilly with a small chance of a touch of grass frost in prone inland rural spots. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Wednesday:

After a chilly start, bright but increasingly windy, with sunny spells and scattered showers. The showers becoming heavy in places into the afternoon, mainly in the east. Feeling rather cool. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Becoming more settled and mainly fine, with some rain and showers mainly confined to Friday. Temperatures recovering, although some chilly starts remain likely. Windy at times, mainly in the east.

Updated:

UK long range weather forecast

High pressure should ensure a fine and dry day for most of the UK on Sunday, and in any sunshine and light winds it should feel warm. Perhaps cloudier across some northern and eastern areas where the odd spot of rain or shower is possible, although these should be light. Into next week the high is likely to withdraw to the west a little, and this will open the door to cooler and less settled conditions, with some rain or showers mainly affecting the north and east, with the best chance of staying dry across western and southern parts. After a brief warmer interlude on Sunday temperatures are likely to trend back toward or a little below average,

Updated:

Around the turn of the month high pressure will probably remain close to the UK, with a good deal of dry weather continuing for many areas. As we move further into May signals are finely balanced between drier than average and wetter than average conditions. As such fairly typical conditions are likely, with some good spells of dry weather just about anywhere, but also some more unsettled, showery interludes. Temperatures are likely to trend toward the warm side of average.
