Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Thursday 28 Sep 2017 to Saturday 7 Oct 2017:

Thursday will be a changeable day as a band of rain, locally heavy, pushes east across the country, with the wet weather accompanied by strengthening winds. Brighter, fresher but showery conditions will follow from the west. Showers will be heaviest and most frequent in the northwest whilst it remains drier towards the southeast. Further wind and rain is likely to reach western areas by the end of the week and towards the weekend. From next weekend, it is likely to turn increasing unsettled for all with spells of rain, locally heavy, spreading east. It will be windy with the risk of gales in places, particularly across coastal areas. Temperatures will be around average for the time of year.

UK Outlook for Sunday 8 Oct 2017 to Sunday 22 Oct 2017:

More unsettled weather will continue across the country by the second week in October, most especially in the north and west. This will bring an increased likelihood of gales or severe gales as well as heavier rain across many parts. By mid October, confidence in the forecast reduces, however it may remain generally unsettled with occasional drier and brighter spells, particularly in the east and southeast. On the whole, temperatures will be close to or slightly warmer than normal, but in any settled spells there could be chilly nights, with an increased risk of mist, fog and frost, especially in the north.
