Many northern areas will be dry with sunny spells on Saturday, although there remains the risk of some heavy showers. More unsettled conditions will arrive in the south, with a strengthening wind. Winds will be brisk at times, and overall it will feel cool with the risk of frost overnight, mainly in the north. On the whole, temperatures will be close to average for the time of year, but it will feel cooler in the more unsettled spells.
UK Outlook for Tuesday 8 May 2018 to Tuesday 22 May 2018:
Mixed conditions will continue through early May, with changeable periods of weather bringing showery rain, interspersed with drier and brighter interludes. Some longer drier spells are possible across the northwest. Confidence reduces into the second half of May, but there are some signs of a generally drier, more settled spell of weather developing. Temperatures are likely to be variable at first although balancing out around average. If a more settled spell develops later in the month, then temperatures may become warmer than average.
