UK forecast for the next 5 days

Headline:

Fine for most, though rain in the far northwest.

Today:

Cloudy in the north with outbreaks of rain for northwest Scotland. The odd spot of rain for eastern Scotland, but also some warm sunny spells. Morning fog patches further south clearing to warm sunshine, though often cloudy in the west.

Tonight:

Clear spells across much of southern and central England and Wales allowing mist and fog patches to form. Cloudier elsewhere with rain in the northwest becoming heavy over the Highlands.

Sunday:

A band of rain in the northwest will edge southeastwards, weakening as it goes. Sunny spells ahead of the front in the southeast, cooler with showers following from the northwest.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Monday and Tuesday see some wet and windy weather across northern Scotland. Otherwise, a good deal of dry weather throughout, but increasingly cloudy. Chilly on Monday, then turning less cold.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Wednesday 24 Oct 2018 to Friday 2 Nov 2018:

Any rain in the north early on Wednesday should clear to the east. Otherwise, plenty of fine weather on Wednesday and Thursday, with the best of the sunshine in the south and west, once early mist and fog clears. By the weekend and into next week, it looks like staying changeable in the north, with a mixture of rain and showers, interspersed by drier, brighter interludes. Some heavy rain is possible in the far northwest at times, with some snow likely for higher ground in Scotland. Generally dry and sunny conditions across the south, although occasional cloud and some rain is likely at times. Strong winds possible in the north and east at times. Temperatures around average at first, turning colder by the end of October and into early November.

UK Outlook for Saturday 3 Nov 2018 to Saturday 17 Nov 2018:

A north to northwesterly scenario is looking likely during this period, with changeable conditions dominating across northern parts at first. However, conditions may turn more widely unsettled at times, with heaviest rain and stronger winds more likely to be across the north. By mid-November there are signals for high pressure to develop to the north of the UK, with 'blocked' conditions becoming established. This may result in fog and frost becoming more likely, especially in the north. Meanwhile, more changeable conditions may become established across the south and west, with some rain at times. Temperatures are likely to be mostly below normal, with a greater likelihood of frost as well as some snow for higher ground in the north. Any milder spells are likely to be short-lived.
