UK forecast for the next 5 days

Headline:

Rain in the south but staying mostly bright further north.

Today:

A fine but chilly start for most, with blustery showers for northern Scotland. Cloud and rain, heavy at times, will quickly spread across many southern and central parts where it will be chilly. Elsewhere it should stay generally bright.

Tonight:

Damp in the south with light rain/drizzle. Further showers for north and west Scotland. Heavier rain into Wales and southwest England later. Elsewhere clear spells mean rural frosts are possible.

Sunday:

Rather windy in the south with coastal gales and heavy, persistent rain moving eastwards, but turning brighter later. Bright spells further north, also some showers, could be heavy and thundery.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Turning much more settled and sunny early next week, however some rain and stronger winds are likely in the north by Wednesday. Becoming warmer by day but some overnight frosts.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Wednesday 26 Sep 2018 to Friday 5 Oct 2018:

For most of the UK, the weather should remain largely settled through the rest of September. Most places will have long sunny spells and generally light winds. However, some mist and fog patches will form during the nights. The north and northwest will be at risk of turning a little more changeable at times next week, with some rain and strong winds possible. However it looks to stay drier and brighter in the south and east. Days will be warm for many, at least at first, but nights will be chilly with some localised frost. Into the start of October many parts are set to remain mostly settled, though some wet and windy weather is possible in the north.

UK Outlook for Saturday 6 Oct 2018 to Saturday 20 Oct 2018:

Settled conditions are expected to dominate across much of the UK through the beginning of this period, especially in the south. There should be a good deal of dry and bright weather with any wet and windy spells likely to be confined to the north of the UK. Increasingly long nights will lead to a greater risk of patches of fog forming overnight and some places may also see some frost. Despite chilly nights, any sunshine by day will give a mild feel for October. Later on in October, there is considerable uncertainty in the forecast, with a chance that some more unsettled weather may affect the UK.
