UK forecast for the next 5 days

Headline:

Dry, warm and sunny for most.

Today:

Early fog will clear to leave another dry, sunny and warm day for most, although mist may linger along western coasts. Northern Scotland will be cloudier with a few showers, and an isolated shower is possible in southeastern England later.

Tonight:

Any remaining showers will die away to leave a dry night. Eastern and western coasts will see patchy fog at times, and some shallow fog will form inland by morning.

Thundery showers will clear eastwards on Sunday, but with rain affecting parts of the north and west. Unsettled, cooler and breezy on Monday and Tuesday, with rain at times.

Updated: 01:08 on Fri 20 Apr 2018 BST

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Tuesday 24 Apr 2018 to Thursday 3 May 2018:

Cloud and outbreaks of rain should clear the southeast on Tuesday. Most areas will then see sunny spells and blustery showers into Wednesday, these heaviest and most frequent in the north and west, with the strongest winds here. For the rest of the period it will be generally changeable. The best of any drier and brighter weather will be in the southeast, but with a chance of some rain at times even here. Temperatures overall will be around average, but it may be rather warm in the south and east at times. By the end of the month and into the start of May, confidence is very low, but it is more likely to continue staying changeable, with some drier and warmer spells at times.

UK Outlook for Friday 4 May 2018 to Friday 18 May 2018:

At the start of May changeable conditions are probable at first, with the southeast seeing the best of any drier, warmer weather, while the northwest will have more frequent spells of rain or showers. The forecast through the rest of this period is currently very uncertain, but through the first half of May it looks as though we could see a mixture of periods of more settled, fine and dry conditions interspersed with spells of showery and more changeable weather. Overall it will be wettest in the northwest, and driest in the southeast. Temperatures are likely to be around average, but with the risk of some cooler northerly winds at times.
