    Regional forecast for South West England

    Another hot and sunny day. Rain chances increase tomorrow.

    Today:

    The hot spell will continue today, with plenty of sunshine albeit rather hazy at times. A few showers may affect the far west of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly at first, but most will remain dry. Maximum Temperature 34 °C.

    Tonight:

    A few showers may develop in the north this evening, and then later towards Devon and Cornwall, but for many it will be a dry and warm night. Minimum Temperature 17 °C.

    Monday:

    Remaining warm although skies will be cloudier than of late. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop, especially in the west, with the risk of some localised flooding. Maximum Temperature 26 °C.

    Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

    A greater chance of heavy rain and thunderstorms on Tuesday. Showers gradually clearing Wednesday as it turns fresher, but further rain may arrive in the west on Thursday.

    Hot today, but increasing showers and thunderstorms next few days.

    Today:

    Some mist and low cloud on coasts in the north, although sunny and hot for many. Very isolated thunderstorms possible over central and western areas, whilst more frequent heavy and possibly thundery showers affect parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland.

    Tonight:

    Areas of showers, some heavy and thundery in the north and west, mostly dry, but very warm and humid in south and east. Low cloud in the north.

    Monday:

    Hot and humid with sunny spells and scattered thunderstorms developing over parts of England and Wales. Scotland and Northern Ireland, cloudier with heavy thundery rain in places.

    Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

    Heavy showers and thunderstorms across many areas on Tuesday, becoming confined to the southeast during Wednesday. Most places dry Thursday, though rain in the northwest later. Cooler than of late.

    Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

    UK Outlook for Friday 19 Aug 2022 to Sunday 28 Aug 2022:

    Cloud and rain will start moving into northwestern areas on Friday but remaining dry and bright in the southeast. A keen breeze may develop across the north and northwest towards the end of the week. Periods of rain will alternate with drier and clearer weather over the weekend and into the start of next week. Any prolonged rain is expected to occur across northern parts. Temperatures likely near normal at first, but becoming rather warm again further into the period, especially in the south. Unsettled conditions will likely dominate in most areas towards the end of the period, with a chance of showers in the south and some further spells of rain in the north.

    UK Outlook for Sunday 28 Aug 2022 to Sunday 11 Sep 2022:

    The conditions are likely to become generally more settled towards the end of August. Moving into the start of September, the north and west may see periods of rain which could occasionally spread further south and east. Some brighter and more settled periods are also expected, especially across the southern and eastern parts. Temperatures are likely to trend above average with the chance of occasional very warm spells.
