    A very windy day with further showers, these heavy and occasionally mixed with hail, with the showers banding together to give more prolonged downpours in the afternoon. Gales continuing near the coast. Maximum Temperature 8 °C.

    Tonight:

    Strong winds and scattered showers at first, but the winds will slowly ease overnight and the showers fade, with most places dry with clear spells by morning. Minimum Temperature 3 °C.

    Thursday:

    Dry with bright spells for much of the morning, however cloud and rain will reach west Cornwall by midday, and will spread eastwards through the rest of the afternoon. Maximum Temperature 9 °C.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

    Overnight rain clears to sunshine and showers Friday. Milder on Saturday, though largely cloudy with patchy rain. Cloudy breezy and mild on Sunday with light rain at times.

    A generally windy day, with early gales in the west and southwest, perhaps severe in coastal Wales. Showers affecting most areas, some heavy and with some more persistent bands of showery rain especially across Wales. A little brightness or sunshine.

    Tonight:

    Showery rain and showers easing for many, clearer spells allowing patchy frost, mostly in the north. However parts of northwest England and the northwest Midlands likely to keep some showers.

    Thursday:

    Showers continuing to ease away northeastwards, many parts fine for a time. Rain returning to western parts by afternoon and central areas later. Mostly fairly chilly, milder in southwest later.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

    Drier weather at times, with unsettled interludes. Blustery showers Friday and Sunday, mainly for the north and west, with longer spells of rain for most through Saturday. Turning milder.

    A chance of bright spells in the east, with showers feeding in from western coasts to begin the period. A chance of further cloud and persistent rain to move into parts of the west. Hill snow likely in the north. Temperatures generally around average, with a chance of strong winds along southern and northwestern coasts. Moving through the period, largely unsettled conditions are likely to persist, with the chance of further showers and longer spells of rain, heavy in places, with a chance of gales for some exposed areas. Potential for drier and brighter conditions in the east at times. Some showers are likely to turn wintry at higher elevations. Towards the end of the period, more settled conditions may develop with some cold interludes likely.

    Going into the Christmas period, temperatures are most likely to be close to normal for the time of year, although some colder spells remain possible.
