    Heavy showers will quickly move in from the south this evening. Showers will clear overnight with clear skies forming in the early hours. Minimum Temperature 5 °C.

    Thursday:

    Dry and sunny on Thursday morning. Cloud increasing a little in the afternoon, but still plenty of warm sunny spells. Maximum Temperature 19 °C.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

    Dry at first on Friday, but showers possible later. Largely dry over the weekend with sunny spells and a few afternoon showers. Feeling warm, but less humid than recently.

    UK forecast for the next 5 days

    Fine for many Wednesday, but rain or thundery showers overnight.

    Today:

    Early rain across northern Scotland clearing. Many parts then largely fine, and turning out warm across southeastern areas. Cloud and strengthening winds bring rain to Northern Ireland later, with showery rain into parts of Wales, southwest and central England.

    Tonight:

    Showery rain crossing much of Wales and England; some heavy downpours, lightning and perhaps hail possible across southeastern areas. Rain and strong winds crossing northern areas. Most parts drier later.

    Thursday:

    Many areas dry with decent sunny spells and patchy cloud. Despite temperatures being somewhat lower, it should feel pleasant in the sunshine. Northwest UK seeing scattered showers, especially western Scotland.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

    Risk of some heavy, thundery rain across the extreme southeast on Friday. Otherwise showers will mainly affect northern and western areas, with sunny spells in between. Feeling fresher for all.

    Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

    UK Outlook for Sunday 22 May 2022 to Tuesday 31 May 2022:

    On Sunday and into the start of next week, southern parts of the UK likely staying mostly fine and dry with light winds. Still a chance of showers, and a low risk that some of these will be heavy at times. Further north it is likely to be cloudier and breezier, particularly around coasts, with showers that could merge into some longer spells of rain. Temperatures close to average, but perhaps below average in the northwest, though it will still feel warm in the sunshine. Towards the end of next week, rain or showers are possible, most likely in the northeast by this stage, where it will be breezy. Drier further southwest with lighter winds. Most areas becoming mainly dry through the end of May.

    UK Outlook for Wednesday 1 Jun 2022 to Wednesday 15 Jun 2022:

    Into June, temperatures are likely to be above average across the south but closer to average further north. Toward mid-June it may turn less settled across the north of the UK, bringing rain or showers, while the south may remain largely fine.
