    Widespread showers throughout the day interspersed with some sunny spells. Showers could be heavy with a risk of thunder and hail. Feeling chilly. Maximum Temperature 15 °C.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

    Friday unsettled with strong winds and heavy, persistent rain. Remaining unsettled on Saturday with further rain particularly in the east and a risk of coastal gales. Further showers on Sunday.

    Rain, some heavy, over central, eastern and northern areas, clearing slowly eastwards, but persisting over central and eastern Scotland. Clear spells and scattered heavy showers following across south-western areas. Frost and patchy fog for Northern Ireland later.

    Thursday:

    Risk of some rain fringing far east of England, with further rain affecting eastern and northern Scotland. Elsewhere, sunny spells and scattered heavy showers, most frequent in the south-west.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

    Heavy rain and strong winds in the south Friday, mostly dry and bright elsewhere. Unsettled over the weekend with periods of rain, heavy in places, with strong winds at times.

    Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

    UK Outlook for Monday 5 Oct 2020 to Wednesday 14 Oct 2020:

    An unsettled picture is likely for this period, with all parts of the country seeing showery spells as well periods of more prolonged rainfall at times. However, southern and western areas are expected to see the worst of these conditions with the most frequent and heaviest rainfall. Drier and calmer conditions could be seen at times, but likely only for short interludes. It will often be windy during this period, with a risk of gales at times, particularly along western and southwestern coasts. Overall, it is likely to feel rather cold as temperatures look set to be around average or below. During any of the brief calmer interludes overnight frost is also possible in the North.

    UK Outlook for Thursday 15 Oct 2020 to Thursday 29 Oct 2020:

    A potential change in the weather is signalled around the middle of October. Whilst further rain and strong winds are likely at times, spells of fine and dry weather could become more widespread and long-lived. At night, these calmer conditions would allow frost and fog to form more readily. At this time of year, there is potential for fog to linger well into the daytime. Overall, temperatures probably recovering close to the seasonal average for mid-October.
