    Some showers at first, particularly across Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire. Overall though, a much drier day to come for Wales than yesterday with sunny spells, especially later. Still windy this morning, but winds easing this afternoon. Feeling cold. Maximum Temperature 9 °C.


    Dry and cold with clear periods this evening. Winds falling light with patchy fog forming. Temperatures rising later as cloud and freshening southerly winds bring rain and possible hill snow. Minimum Temperature -1 °C.


    Cloudy with occasionally heavy rain during the morning. This clearing to brighter skies by lunchtime with sunny spells and showers during the afternoon. Becoming windy with local coastal gales. Maximum Temperature 10 °C.

    Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

    Very windy with gales or severe gales likely on Tuesday and further heavy rain followed by showers. Staying unsettled and cold on Wednesday and Thursday with strong winds and showers.

    Bright with sunny spells in the west with early showers gradually fading, best of the sunshine Northern Ireland and western Scotland. Elsewhere, cloudier with showers or rain at times. Windy at first and feeling cold.


    Cold with clear spells this evening. Turning cloudier and windier overnight with rain developing in the north and west with some hill snow over northern England and Scotland.


    Early rain and hill snow in the north and west spreading eastwards, clearing eastern UK during the afternoon. Sunny spells and heavy, blustery showers follow. Windy and blustery.

    Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

    Wet with snow on the hills and very windy Tuesday and Wednesday, with coastal gales in the west. Perhaps drier to start on Thursday before becoming wet and windy again.

    UK Outlook for Thursday 9 Dec 2021 to Saturday 18 Dec 2021:

    Thursday generally cloudy with showers or longer spells of rain for most places. Possibility of coastal gales in the west, otherwise lighter winds and temperatures near normal, perhaps rather cold in the north. Remaining largely unsettled Friday and Saturday, with some hill snow likely at times, mainly in the north. Temperatures moving closer to average, and the chances of gales continues. Further into the period, breezy with further showers and longer spells of rain at times, heavy rainfall moving further south. Clearer spells following any prolonged rainfall, with some showers becoming wintry. Towards the end of the period, more settled conditions likely with mild temperatures, but the chance of some cold interludes bringing a risk of frost.

    UK Outlook for Sunday 19 Dec 2021 to Sunday 2 Jan 2022:

    Getting into the Christmas period, it is likely to be milder than earlier in the month, with temperatures near to above normal, although some colder spells remain possible. It is likely to become more settled around Christmas and towards New Year with increased chance of overnight frost and fog during clearer spells.
