    Bright spells with showers, mostly light, to start. A band of heavy rain and strong wind will arrive in the northwest by mid-morning, moving southeastwards, with sunshine and heavy blustery showers to follow. Winds easing a little inland later. Maximum Temperature 17 °C.

    Tonight:

    Scattered cloud and isolated showers, including heavier ones, will continue to drift into Wales in a north-westerly breeze, which will remain strong in coastal parts at times. Winds easing later. Minimum Temperature 6 °C.

    Saturday:

    A chilly, clear start. Mostly blue skies throughout the day, with patches of fair weather cloud bubbling up here and there. Feeling fairly warm in the sunshine with light winds. Maximum Temperature 18 °C.

    Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

    Cloudier on Sunday with rain and wind arriving Sunday evening. Drier with sunshine on Monday and a similar theme, though cloudier, on Tuesday. Mostly mild, but chilly at night initially.

    Some heavy rain today, then drier this weekend.

    Today:

    A band of rain, heavy at times and accompanied by gusty winds, will move southeastwards across all parts, reaching the far southeast this evening. Turning colder in the northwest with frequent showers, some heavy with hail and thunder.

    Tonight:

    Rain clearing the far southeast during the evening then many areas becoming dry with clear spells, and turning chilly as winds ease. Showers affecting parts of the north and west.

    Saturday:

    Most parts dry with broken cloud, sunny spells and light winds. Cloudy and breezy across northern and western Scotland with a few showers.

    Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

    Wind and rain in the northwest Sunday, southeast staying mainly dry. Monday/Tuesday mainly fine with sunny spells after chilly mornings, but windy with showers in the far north on Monday.

    UK Outlook for Tuesday 11 Oct 2022 to Thursday 20 Oct 2022:

    This period is likely to be characterised by unsettled weather with showers and longer periods of rain for most areas. Largely a dry, cloudy Tuesday for all with the chance of patchy rain developing over the northwest later in the day. For the remainder of the period, further bands of rain are expected across the country with drier spells between them. Overall the west and northwest seeing the heaviest and most frequent rain, whilst the east will experience more dry sunny spells. Rain is likely to be accompanied by strong winds with a risk of gales in exposed regions of the northwest throughout. Temperatures generally near normal, with the occasional cooler night bringing the chance of mist and fog in places.

    Changeable conditions are expected to continue throughout the period, with bands of rain and showers likely across most of the country. Temperatures are likely to remain near to normal overall throughout. However, there is an increasing chance of some more settled weather from late October, although it may also be accompanied by colder conditions with mist or fog and frost.
