    Some rain across northern parts on Thursday, otherwise generally dry and windy with a few bright spells. However, rain will turn heavy and persistent through the evening with stronger winds. Maximum Temperature 21 °C.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

    Windy and cool on Friday with sunshine and blustery showers. Starting dry on Saturday but turning cloudier with rain later. Potentially windy with some rain on Sunday.

    Strongest winds easing tonight, but remaining very windy in the north with gales and blustery showers. Clear spells further south, before heavy rain reaches Wales, central and northern England after midnight.


    Calmer in the north, but still blustery in northern Scotland with heavy showers. Unsettled elsewhere, with spells of heavy rain and strong winds as another low arrives from the southwest.

    Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

    Unsettled with sunshine and blustery showers on Friday. Drier start on Saturday, but showery in the northeast and rain returning to the southwest. Potentially wet and very windy on Sunday.

    Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

    UK Outlook for Monday 24 Sep 2018 to Wednesday 3 Oct 2018:

    Strong winds may persist in the far east or northeast on Monday morning, but otherwise a much quieter spell of weather is expected during Monday and Tuesday with a good deal of dry and bright weather across the UK. It is likely to be cool overnight with frost possible in some prone areas and fog is also expected in places. Despite some sunshine by day temperatures will overall be fairly cool. Through the rest of this period any wet and windy weather is likely to be confined to the northwest with drier, brighter conditions expected across the southeast which are likely to extend to all areas at times. There will still be some cool nights but by day temperatures may well be warm.

    UK Outlook for Thursday 4 Oct 2018 to Thursday 18 Oct 2018:

    Settled conditions are expected to dominate across much of the UK through the beginning of this period, bringing a good deal of dry and bright weather with any brief wet and windy spells likely to be confined to the northwest of the UK. Increasingly long nights gives a greater risk of patches of fog forming overnight and some places may also see some frost. Despite chilly nights, any sunshine by day will give a rather warm feel. Later on in this period there is considerable uncertainty in the forecast with a chance that some more unsettled weather may become established again.
